Job summary

Pasado's Safe Haven in Monroe, WA, seeks a Farmed Animal Care Manager to oversee daily care, health, safety, and well-being of all farmed animal residents. You will ensure high welfare standards and coordinate veterinary care.

The role includes managing staff and volunteers, designing enrichment plans, maintaining records, and assisting with budget input while ensuring compliance with animal welfare regulations and sanctuary policies.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience caring for farmed animals.
• At least 2 years of supervisory or management experience.
• Knowledge of care and behavior of multiple farmed species (chickens, ducks, turkeys, pigs, goats, sheep, cows, equines).
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and work independently.
• Personal values aligned with animal welfare and compassionate care.
• WA state driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily care of all farmed animal residents, including feeding, watering, cleaning, grooming, and enrichment.
• Ensure species-appropriate nutrition, housing, and enrichment.
• Monitor health and behavior; communicate concerns to Medical Operations team.
• Maintain accurate health, treatment, and behavior records.
• Design and implement training and enrichment plans; train staff/volunteers.
• Assist Sanctuary Director with emergency planning and budget input.
• Administer medications as directed by veterinarians and staff.
• Foster a collaborative, mission-driven team culture.
• Ensure animal spaces are clean, safe, and well maintained.
