Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Cashier/Stocker. Lead when store manager or assistant is absent. Help set plan-o-grams, provide exceptional service, and work to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction while protecting assets.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, stocking, assisting customers, operating registers, and maintaining a clean, organized store environment. Relocation is not available.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise per store process.
• Receive, open, and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock merchandise, rotate and face shelves, build displays.
• Restock returned and recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise and answering questions.
• Operate cash register; total purchases and bag items.
• Maintain plan-o-grams and floor displays.
• Open and/or close the store under direction of Area Manager.
