Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Cashier/Stocker who can lead in the absence of store management. You will assist in plan‑o‑gram setup, stock merchandise, and provide superior customer service while protecting store assets.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, stocking shelves, balancing registers, and maintaining a clean, safe store environment. Relate to customers, aid in operational efficiency, and support team goals.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, percentages).
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions and scan equipment.
• Familiarity with cash handling, safety control policies, and security practices.
• Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan‑o‑gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and follow store receiving procedures.
• Stock and rotate merchandise; build displays and face shelves.
• Restock returned merchandise and manage inventory flow.
• Assist in plan‑o‑gram implementation and upkeep.
• Attend to customers and locate items in store.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of store front, stockroom and restrooms.
• Operate register, total purchases, bag items and provide change.
• Greet customers and support sidewalk displays.
