Job summary

The AES Group is seeking a Safety Performance Engineer in Auburn Hills, Michigan (onsite). You will lead safety development activities for vehicle programs, set safety targets, and oversee test plans from concept to launch.

Responsibilities include coordinating with CAE teams for virtual validation, supporting regulatory requirements, and guiding cross-functional teams to address safety issues across vehicle disciplines. Travel to proving grounds may be required.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety development activities and set vehicle-level targets.
• Support crash regulatory requirements and third-party safety ratings.
• Own safety performance activities for vehicle integration and validation.
• Lead attribute teams and safety clubs; manage program requests.
• Influence vehicle designs and investigate root causes of issues.
• Prepare documentation for issue resolution.
• Lead cross-functional teams when safety affects multiple disciplines.
• Manage physical and component testing from concept to launch.
• Collaborate with CAE teams on virtual validation assessments.
• Travel to proving-ground facilities as needed.
• Demonstrate strong technical, communication, and organizational skills.
