Job summary

Grunley Construction is hiring a Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) to manage safety programs across our projects. You will implement Safety Management Systems, conduct audits, and lead safety training to ensure regulatory compliance on site in Norfolk, VA.

The role requires OSHA 30-hour and First Aid/CPR, with preferred certifications and a safety-related degree. Ten years of field safety experience with construction or related environments is expected.

Qualifications

• Must have HS Diploma and OSHA 30-hour certification.
• Preferred degree in Safety and Health or related field.
• Experience with OSHA regulations and federal/state safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Implement Safety Management Systems and risk reduction practices.
• Conduct safety audits, training, and incident investigations.
• Prepare activity hazard analyses and safety plans for projects.
• Maintain safety records, reports, and compliance documentation.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure adherence to safety policies.
