Job summary

Mass. Electric Construction Company, a subsidiary of Kiewit, seeks a Safety Manager to develop, audit, and sustain our safety program across projects. You will lead incident analysis, coach on safe practices, and ensure regulatory compliance to protect workers.

You must have a degree in Occupational Health and Safety (or related field), 5 years of construction safety experience, BCSP certification, and strong communication skills. Occasional relocation may be required to support field operations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field; experience considered in lieu of degree.
• 5 years of experience managing safety in construction projects.
• Must possess BCSP certification: CSP, ASP, CHST, STSC, CIT, or STS.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations, hazard recognition, and injury management.
• Proficient with MS Word and Excel; computer literacy.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willing to relocate; able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage the environmental health and safety programs at the project level, driving a safety-oriented approach to work.
• Analyze occupational illness and accident data at the project level; recommend safety features to reduce exposure.
• Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
• Monitor workforce for unsafe behaviors and coach employees on correct behaviors.
• Develop environmental health and safety training materials and paperwork tracking systems.
• Interpret safety regulations for the project.
• Coordinate and present safety training to support client requirements including orientation and fall protection.
• Interface with OSHA/MSHA officials during site visits.
