Pronto AI, a leader in autonomous vehicle technology, seeks a Senior Safety Engineer to develop safety arguments, perform hazard analyses, and oversee commissioning readiness for off-road autonomous systems. The role involves leading a small team and occasionally traveling to mining and construction sites across the US.

You will build and defend safety cases, shape verification strategies, and drive risk mitigation to enable safe autonomous operation at customer sites.

Competenze

• 8+ years in systems safety, safety engineering or a closely related systems discipline in a safety‑critical domain.
• Built a safety argument from scratch with claims, evidence and structure, defended its sufficiency.

Mansioni

• Build the off-road truck safety case: claims, evidence, limits and gaps.
• Hazard analysis: assess site, truck and software interactions, derive requirements.
• Test preparation: define demonstrations, acceptance criteria, evidence.
• Commissioning readiness: determine when site is not ready for autonomous operation.
• Incidents and triage: manage intake, severity model, investigations and corrective actions.
• Change assessment: evaluate impact of software releases, new variants, site layout.
• Grow and lead a small team of engineers, maintaining ownership of safety case and investigations.
• Travel to sites as needed.
