Job summary

First Capitol Animal Hospital in St. Charles, Missouri, is seeking an experienced Lead Registered Veterinary Technician to guide our clinical team and support doctors and leadership. This is a full-time role with Monday-Friday scheduling and rotating weekends.

You will mentor technicians, uphold medical protocols, assist with anesthesia, dentistry, and surgery, and promote a collaborative hospital culture focused on exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) credential in good standing in the state of Missouri.
• 3+ years of veterinary experience in a clinical setting.
• Previous veterinary leadership or mentoring experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• A positive attitude and commitment to team success.
• Passion for delivering exceptional patient care and client service.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of veterinary technicians and assistants.
• Help train, coach, and develop team members.
• Ensure quality patient care and adherence to medical protocols.
• Assist with anesthesia monitoring, dental procedures, surgery support, and nursing care.
• Partner with doctors and leadership to promote efficiency and teamwork.
• Foster a positive, collaborative hospital culture.
• Serve as a resource and mentor for the clinical team.
