Job summary

Adcamp Inc. is seeking a Roller Operator – Lead Heavy Civil Compaction to support field operations on asphalt projects in Flowood, MS. The role focuses on operating steel-wheel vibratory and pneumatic tire rollers, delivering density and surface finish targets, and coordinating with paver and screed teams.

You will inspect equipment, monitor temperatures, and follow precise rolling patterns to prevent defects, contributing to durable paving surfaces and project success.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of verifiable experience operating steel-wheel vibratory and pneumatic tire rollers.
• Knowledge of asphalt compaction theory, breakdown patterns, and mix behavior.
• Ability to safely operate heavy equipment and work in a team.
• Detail-oriented with proven density target accuracy.
• Ability to work outdoors in variable weather and tolerate vibration.

Responsibilities

• Operate steel-wheel vibratory and pneumatic tire rollers to achieve specified density on asphalt lifts.
• Execute precise rolling patterns based on mix type, lift thickness, and temperature windows.
• Monitor mat temperatures and adjust roller proximity to the paver.
• Coordinate daily with paver and screed operators to maintain spacing and speeds.
• Perform pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections.
• Support nuclear density gauge testing and review site results with Foreman.
