Job summary

Magnum Paving LLC is seeking a Roller Operator to safely operate Breakdown Rollers, Rubber Tire Rollers, Finish Rollers, Pad Foot Rollers and other equipment to compact asphalt and achieve the required surface finish.

The role requires 3+ years in asphalt rolling, knowledge of roller types, and the ability to work in various weather and site conditions. Overtime and weekend shifts are common in paving projects.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in asphalt rolling.
• Knowledge of rollers and other heavy equipment.
• Knowledge of construction materials and industry requirements.
• Understanding of computerized controls and electronics.
• 3+ years in the asphalt industry.
• 2+ years' experience operating Breakdown Rollers, Rubber Tire Rollers and/or Finish Rollers.

Responsibilities

• Operate the roller and other heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
• Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
• Safely operate roller in overlapping passes to compact surfaces for desired finish.
• Determine speed and direction based on material and temperature to avoid ridges.
• Push hand roller and tamp areas not accessible to road rollers.
• Operate various rollers to compact earth, subgrade, and asphalt surfaces.
• Massage hot mix asphalt with Breakdown roller and finish with Finish Roller.
• Operate Pad Foot Roller when needed and seal subsurfaces with Smooth Drum.
• Carry out other heavy equipment tasks as required.
