Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of product development experience in wheel design.
• Experience with bicycle wheel design, build, and manufacturing.
• Experience with composite structures and laminate layup decisions.
• CAD modeling experience, especially Onshape, for 3D models and drawings.
• Ability to apply GD&T and interpret test data.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and development of road wheel systems, including carbon rims, hubs, and spoke configurations.
• Create engineering specification packages for internal and external partners.
• Translate rider feedback into engineering specs for wheel products.
• Collaborate with Trek racing teams to optimize performance at the highest level.
• Develop relationships with vendors and coordinate activities with domestic and international teammates.
• Mentor engineers and own technical decisions across wheel programs.
• Conduct patent searches and stay informed on new technology.
