Job summary

Trek Bicycle Corporation in Waterloo, Illinois, is seeking an experienced engineer to lead the technical design and development of road wheel systems—from concept through production. You will create engineering specifications, translate rider feedback into specs, and collaborate with Trek racing teams and internal partners to deliver high-performance wheel products.

Ideal candidates bring a mechanical engineering degree (or equivalent) and 5+ years in bicycle wheel design, with hands-on CAD work

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent with 5+ years in product development.
• Experience with bicycle wheel design, build, and manufacturing.
• Experience designing composite structures and laminate layups.
• Knowledge of GD&T and design for manufacturing/assembly.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and development of road wheel systems from concept to production.
• Create engineering specification packages for internal and external partners.
• Translate rider feedback into engineering specs for wheels.
• Collaborate with Trek racing teams and internal customers across departments.
• Mentor engineers and drive technical decisions across wheel programs.
