Job summary

OPAL Fuels seeks a Lead Plant Operator for the Cottonwood RNG site in Marissa, IL. You will supervise daily operations, coordinate maintenance, and work with construction and commissioning teams to maximize gas plant production safely and efficiently.

Role emphasizes safety, environmental compliance, and detailed recordkeeping while supporting startup activities and shift coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Renewable gas production industry experience preferred.
• Must be skilled in recordkeeping and logging.
• General troubleshooting abilities.
• Computer skills (Microsoft Office).
• Must possess good mechanical skills with mechanical/basic electrical knowledge/troubleshooting experience.
• Basic electrical knowledge is preferred.
• Must have a current and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the RNG facility and supervise site personnel.
• Ensure safety, environmental compliance, and cleanliness.
• Coordinate maintenance tasks with management and operators.
• Schedule operators and plan outage events.
• Work with third-party vendors to ensure timely service.
• Respond to callouts and manage the callout roster.
• Operate and monitor plant systems to maximize production and efficiency.
• Maintain detailed production and maintenance records.
