Laredo Medical Center in Texas is hiring a Charge Nurse for the Step Down Unit to lead nursing operations during assigned shifts and ensure high-quality patient care. You will supervise staff, coordinate with care teams, and uphold hospital policies.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of clinical nursing experience, current RN licensure, and BLS certification. ACLS is preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and patient-flow management are essential.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience required.
• RN licensure is required.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and supports nursing and support staff, delegating tasks as needed.
• Evaluates staff performance, provides feedback and coaching.
• Oversees assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care.
• Collaborates with healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and resolve issues.
• Ensures effective communication among physicians, patients, families, and departments.
• Monitors patient flow and bed assignments to optimize resources.
