Job summary

SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital - St. Louis is seeking a Nursing Leader to coordinate unit staffing, oversee clinical objectives and ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care across shifts.

You will supervise nursing and support staff, collaborate with advanced practice providers, and evaluate outcomes to address care issues. The role includes day shift, 36 hours weekly, and the Med Surg - 3W department, with a focus on safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing.
• One year of registered nurse experience.
• State licensure requirements across IL, MO, OK, WI or compact state.

Responsibilities

• Assigns, directs, educates and monitors nursing and support staff during assigned shift; participates in staff evaluations.
• Assesses daily patient care needs and develops patient care assignments with population appropriate care.
• Collaborates with advanced practice providers to ensure quality outcomes.
• Evaluates effectiveness of patient care and identifies issues affecting outcomes.
• Responds to patient care complaints and manages through established channels.
• May provide input for hiring, training, directing, developing and evaluating staff.
• Maintains safety and alerts continuously while performing duties.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
