Job summary

Appling-Healthcare-System in Baxley, GA is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care in a long-term care setting. You will participate in care planning, lead the nursing staff as charge nurse, and ensure adherence to physician orders and CMS regulations.

Responsibilities include medication administration (including IV piggyback and IV push), wound care, rounds with physicians, staff education, documentation, and maintaining confidentiality of PHI.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Registered Nursing.
• Holds a current State of Georgia License.
• Long Term Care experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, therapeutic nursing care for residents.
• Act as charge nurse to lead, guide, and direct nursing staff.
• Attend weekly Medicare A and care plan meetings.
• Participate in QAPI and Infection Control meetings monthly and PRN.
• Write and maintain policy/procedure manuals and nursing forms with committees.
• Stay current by attending seminars and reading journals.
• Ensure care plans, meds, and nursing notes follow physician orders.
• Rounds with physicians monthly and PRN.
• Complete daily schedules and ensure adequate staffing.
• Follow dietary recommendations for residents.
• Educate staff as needed.
• Work as medication nurse PRN.
• Hold daily huddles to maintain communication.
• Make weekly rounds and address concerns.
• Assist with admissions/readmissions.
• Ensure supplies are available.
• Ensure weights are completed weekly/monthly.
• Maintain CMS compliance and survey readiness.
