Job summary

The Alden Network in Chicago seeks a registered nurse to provide direct patient care and supervise nursing assistants, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local standards.

The RN will plan and direct care, participate in care conferences, document care, and mentor staff while maintaining a warm, supportive environment for residents.

Candidates must hold IL or WI RN license, CPR certification, and demonstrate leadership and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current, unencumbered RN license in Illinois and/or Wisconsin.
• Must possess current CPR certificate or obtain within two weeks of employment.
• Knowledgeable in nursing and medical practices and procedures.
• Ability to read, write and speak English clearly.
• Ability to make independent decisions when warranted.
• Demonstrates leadership and supervisory ability.
• Personable, enthusiastic and resourceful.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise nursing assistants.
• Ensure nursing procedures and policies are followed per established guidelines.
• Develop and implement plans of care for each resident.
• Oversee daily rounds and nursing activities across shifts.
• Maintain accurate nursing notes and documentation.
• Attend care plan conferences and communicate with physicians and families.
• Mentor staff and address concerns per policy.
• Place orders for medications and treatments as directed.
• Create a calm, supportive department environment.
• Participate in continuing education.
