Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Health System is seeking a Lead RN for Fruitland Health Plaza (Family Medicine and Urgent Care) to provide clinical leadership and frontline patient care in a busy clinic setting in Idaho. Qualifications

• A current RN license is required.
• Multistate licenses must establish residency with the Idaho Board of Nursing within 60 days from hire.
• All colleagues must provide licensure or proof of application in process for an Oregon RN license within 90 days of the hire date.
• Minimum of two years of nursing experience required, preferably in a physician office setting.
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required (ACLS/PALS may be accepted in lieu of BLS).

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the day-to-day back-office operations of a primary care site focusing on customer service, physician and staff relationship and financial management.
• Provides clinical leadership and assists with crisis management as indicated.
• Maintains confidentiality regarding patient and business functions of the center.
• Assists in instructing policies and procedures with clinical functions.
• Maintains timecards and reports worked time to payroll or appropriate agency of responsible staff.
• Inventory management of all medical/surgical supplies
• Maintains adequate staffing levels to support physician productivity.
• Completes back-office staff schedule, clinical competencies, and provides education as needed.
• Provides mentoring and coaching of nursing staff and assists with progressive discipline as needed.
• Responsible for regulatory compliance and readiness.
• Responds to resolve patient concerns and/or employee conflict, promoting customer service.
• Active member of the Ambulatory Care Council and attends monthly meetings.
• Participates in network process improvement projects.
• Provides skilled nursing care under direction of a Licensed Independent Practitioner.
• Assists in patient assessment in emergent and non-emergent settings.
• Assists physician with diagnostic/therapeutic procedures in a safe environment.
• Maintains complete medical records reflecting patient care; calls in prescriptions and communicates orders.
• Encouraged to pursue continuing education to maintain licensure.
• Delivers nursing care within scope of practice.
• Assists physician with examinations and treatments per nursing guidelines.
• Administers medications safely.
• Educates patients and family and assists coping with illnesses.
• Maintains a clean, sterile patient care area observing asepsis and federal mandates.
• Assists in emergencies under physician direction.
• Routes billing information as appropriate.
• Aids in identifying methods to improve patient care.
• Demonstrates customer service orientation and strong communication skills.
• Experience with medical office operations and willingness to attend off-site meetings.
