Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Clinical Unit Leader at Memorial Regional Medical Center in Virginia. The Lead RN/Charge Nurse coordinates patient care on a designated unit, collaborates with the Clinical Manager, and uses nursing processes to promote clinical excellence and patient satisfaction while ensuring efficient use of resources.

The role requires a BSN (preferred), an active RN license in the state or compact, and 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an acuity

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state they are working or covered by compact.
• BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire)
• Certifications based on unit overseen (PALS, ACLS, NRP, TNCC, ENPC or other) preferred
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience with 1 year in the acuity level of the desired area

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care on a designated unit.
• Adjust schedules and patient assignments to accommodate changes in acuity and resources.
• Provide guidance to staff and oversee unit in the absence of the unit leader.
• Maintain knowledge of safety standards and infection control; utilize supplies and equipment.
• Communicate with patients and families regarding nursing interventions and care plans.
• Serve as a resource to staff, patients, and families to ensure effective communication.
• Mentor staff and participate in interprofessional collaboration.
• Participate in quality monitoring and performance improvement programs.
