Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Washington state seeks a Single Threaded Leader for radio products within the Lunar Permanence unit. Lead hardware bring-up, functional characterization, environmental qualification, and production transfer for RF SDRs from UHF to Ka-Band, serving as the technical authority and bridge between product engineers and vehicle systems.

Qualifications

• BS in electrical, computer, or aerospace engineering or related field.
• 3+ years RF communications system design for space environment.
• 3+ years qualifying space hardware for space environment.
• 3+ years aerospace test experience including developing test requirements, plans, procedures and reports.
• Familiarity with digital communication systems and modulation types (PSK, QPSK, QAM).
• 3+ years hardware test experience of RF and avionics devices at card/box/system level.
• Knowledge of EMI/EMC design and mitigation techniques (grounding, shielding, filtering).
• Proficient with standard lab test equipment (VNA, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes).
• Hands-on, team-oriented, able to work across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical authority for RF SDRs from UHF through Ka-Band.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team in vertical integration of RF SDRs under tight schedules.
• Develop and review RF requirements for lunar vehicles and EMI/EMC test plans.
• Handoff radio products from development to production.
• Act as the bridge between radio product team and vehicle system engineers.
• Support RF and avionics hardware design and verification planning.
• Develop and verify automated test equipment and RF test benches.
• Coordinate test facility, chamber, and equipment scheduling.
• Lead test readiness and resolve test-related issues.
• Investigate anomalies and develop recovery plans.
• Generate test records and verification artifacts.
• Interface with labs and suppliers for tests and compliance.
