Job summary

Blue Origin in Seattle seeks a hands-on RF systems engineer to lead radio product bring-up and production transfer within the Lunar Permanence unit. You will serve as Single Threaded Leader for RF software defined radios, coordinating hardware and firmware development, testing, and qualification for lunar vehicle programs.

You will bridge product, vehicle systems, and test teams, guiding EMI/EMC, environmental tests, and the creation of verification artifacts under an aggressive schedule.

Qualifications

• BS in electrical/computer/aerospace engineering or physics
• 3+ years RF design for space environments
• 3+ years qualifying space hardware for space environment
• Experience with environmental testing (Shock/Vibration, Thermal, Vacuum, EMI/EMC)
• Familiarity with PSK/APSK/QAM and modulated signal tests
• 3+ years hardware test of RF/avionics devices at card/box/system level
• Knowledge of EMI/EMC design and mitigation
• Hands-on, able to work independently and in teams
• Good written and verbal communication
• Ability to work with multi-functional teams

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical authority for RF SDRs from UHF to Ka-Band
• Lead a multi-disciplinary team in vertical integration of software defined radios
• Develop and review RF requirements and EMI/EMC/test plans
• Lead handoff of radio products from development to production
• Bridge between radio product team and vehicle system engineers
• Support RF/avionics hardware design and verification plans
• Collaborate on design, build, and verification of RF test equipment
• Coordinate test facility, chamber, and equipment scheduling
• Lead test readiness, resolve issues, and delegate tasks
• Troubleshoot anomalies and perform root cause analyses
• Generate test records and verification artifacts
• Interface with labs, facilities, and suppliers for testing
