Job summary

TRS-RenTelco - A Division of McGrath in Dallas, TX is seeking a seasoned Calibration Technician to calibrate, test, troubleshoot and repair electronic test equipment for customer orders. You will document actions, ensure traceability to national standards, and mentor fellow technicians in a fast-paced lab environment.

You will work with ISO/IEC 17025 and ANSI/NCSLI standards, follow procedures, and support customers with setup and technical questions while maintaining lab cleanliness and safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years electrical metrology experience with strong focus on RF calibration.
• Strong knowledge of operation, calibration, repair and maintenance of electronic test equipment.
• Wide knowledge of electronic test equipment.
• Basic computer skills to maintain equipment history databases and operate computer controlled test equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex calibration issues and mentor, train, and develop other technicians.
• Experience with ISO/IEC 17025 and ANSI/NCSLI Z540-1 and Z540.3 calibration systems.
• Strong customer focus, teamwork, organizational and communication skills.
• High Emotional Intelligence (EQ).

Responsibilities

• Calibrate, test, troubleshoot and repair electronic test equipment to component level.
• Lead or assist other technicians with complex problems and priorities.
• Follow procedures and standards for inbound/outbound equipment and customer orders.
• Document actions in the software driven inventory management system.
• Ensure calibrations are traceable to national standards.
• Assist customers with technical issues and equipment setup.
• Maintain lab area cleanliness and organization.
• Work on projects with minimal supervision within guidelines.
• Functionally test units using detailed procedures with limited deviation.
• Calibrate using manual or automated procedures and substitute standards as needed.
• Identify parts and accessories related to the equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair using schematics, manuals and substitution.
• Protect confidential company and customer information.
• Support department goals and organizational success.
