Job summary

TRS-RenTelco - A Division of McGrath in is seeking a Calibration Automation Engineer to lead the maintenance and advancement of automated metrology programs. You will ensure calibration lab capabilities stay at the cutting edge and manage cost reduction initiatives within the calibration program.

The role requires hands-on experience with RF, oscilloscopes, telecommunications and fiber optic metrology, plus strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience calibrating and maintaining electronic measuring and test equipment (M&TE) including RF, oscilloscopes, telecom, and fiber optic.
• Knowledge of measurement uncertainty budgets and metrology statistics.
• Strong computer skills for installation, troubleshooting and hardware/software integration.
• Analytical mindset with solid problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and calibrate Laboratory Standards inventory and outsource assets as needed.
• Develop and validate automated metrology solutions across platforms.
• Create calibration methods aligned with measurement science standards.
• Identify opportunities to increase in-house calibration capabilities and throughput.
• Support LAN maintenance and IT-related calibration tooling.
• Assist personnel with calibration methods, debugging, and software/firmware installation.
• Provide after-hours support and rental equipment issue resolution.
• Contribute to ISO/IEC 17025 and related audits and accreditation efforts.
• Collaborate with team on projects and protect confidential information.
