Job summary

EXL is seeking a seasoned Retail Lending Domain SME to lead business discussions for a bank's analytics modernization. You will define metrics, validate data, and guide reporting with onshore and offshore teams to ensure solutions reflect real retail lending processes.

With 10+ years in banking and strong SQL/BI capabilities, you will partner with senior stakeholders across Product, Risk, Finance, and Technology to drive impact and align delivery with strategic goals.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in banking or financial services with a focus on consumer/retail lending.
• Hands-on experience with retail lending products (cards, personal loans, mortgages) and the full credit lifecycle.
• Proven analytics experience: portfolio performance, delinquency, vintage analysis, risk monitoring.
• Ability to define and document business metrics for technical implementation and governance.
• Strong ability to lead client conversations at the senior level and define what to measure.
• Working knowledge of SQL or similar data tools to understand data and trace discrepancies.
• Strong stakeholder management with senior leaders in business, risk, finance and technology.
• Excellent verbal, written and executive-level presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as the retail lending SME, driving requirements with senior client stakeholders and guiding client IT and data teams.
• Define, derive and document key retail lending metrics and their calculation rules and hierarchies.
• Apply knowledge of retail lending products, processes, data and performance drivers to guide report design, KPIs and use cases.
• Own metric governance across Product, Risk, Finance and Technology and resolve discrepancies.
• Review and validate reports produced by delivery teams and resolve data mismatches with data provisioning teams.
• Perform and guide analytics on portfolio performance, credit quality, and customer behavior to ensure insightful reporting.
• Prioritize use cases with stakeholders to align with business value and roadmap.
• Translate business needs into clear requirements and support UAT through to production.
• Mentor team members and deepen banking-domain knowledge within the delivery team.
