Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Cashier/Stocker to support store operations and customer service. You will unload trucks, stock shelves, maintain plan-o-grams, and assist at the register, ensuring a clean, organized store environment. Relies on teamwork and attention to loss prevention.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and basic supervisory experience; applicants must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math calculations for transactions and pricing.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control.
• Experience using cash registers and basic point-of-sale systems.
• Familiarity with plan-ograms and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Effective interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.
• Awareness of safety policies and practices.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks according to store procedures.
• Receive, open, and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock and rotate merchandise; build displays.
• Restock returned and recovered merchandise.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Help customers locate merchandise and assist at checkout.
• Operate cash register; collect payment and bag items.
• Maintain clean storefront and backroom; observe safety.
• Open/close the store under direction from Area Manager.
