Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Cashier/Stocker to perform duties in a lead capacity in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager. The role includes setting up plan-o-grams, stocking merchandise, and delivering exemplary customer service in a fast-paced store environment.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, assisting customers, operating cash registers, and ensuring a clean, secure store.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math calculations and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including accountability and deposits.
• Ability to operate IBM cash registers and scanners.
• Familiarity with cash, facility and safety control policies.
• Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and procedures.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-grams and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock shelves following store procedures.
• Maintain stock levels, rotate merchandise and build displays.
• Assist customers and locate merchandise.
• Operate register, total purchases and give change.
• Maintain cleanliness of front end and stockroom; assist in safety compliance.
• Open/close store under area manager directions.
