Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a capable Cashier/Stocker to lead store operations in the absence of store management. You will support plan-o-gram setup, customer service, and stock control while ensuring profitability and asset protection.

You will unload trucks, stock, maintain displays, assist customers, and help maintain a clean, safe store environment with a focus on teamwork and efficiency. This role emphasizes leadership and reliability in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations and cash handling.
• Experience with IBM cash register functions is a plus.
• Knowledge of safety and cash-control policies is important.
• Strong customer service and communication skills are essential.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and shelf presentation guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and process stock per store procedures.
• Stock and rotate merchandise; build displays and face shelves.
• Restock returned merchandise and follow ordering practices.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise and provide high-quality service.
• Open/close the store under direction of the Area Manager.
• Maintain cash drawer; assist with refunds and deposits when needed.
• Ensure store cleanliness and a safe shopping environment.
• Lead cashier activities in the absence of store leadership.
