Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a proactive Cashier/Stocker who can lead in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Manager. You will help set and maintain plan-o-grams, provide exceptional customer service, and maximize profitability while protecting assets.

You will unload trucks, stock shelves, assist customers, and ensure a clean, organized store environment with strong cashier accountability. This is a full-time role at store level.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and follow prescribed processes for the store.
• Stock merchandise and build displays; rotate and face shelves.
• Restock returned and recovered merchandise.
• Order zones and drop shipment categories as assigned.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety, including trash disposal and restroom upkeep.
• Greet customers and handle cash register transactions; provide superior service.
• Open/close the store under direction and handle refunds/overrides as needed.
• Monitor cash levels and store security practices.
