Job summary

Dollar General in Ohio seeks a Cashier and/or Stocker to perform front-end duties and lead in the absence of store management. You will help set up plan‑o‑grams, stock shelves, assist customers, and ensure a clean, safe, and profitable store.

You will unload trucks, process deliveries, operate the register, provide excellent service, and maintain register accuracy, while following SOPs and protecting company assets.

Qualifications

• Strong math skills for basic calculations.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and cashier accountability.
• Experience with IBM cash registers.
• Knowledge of safety policies and cash control.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram guidance.
• High school diploma or equivalent; 6 months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks according to store processes.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock merchandise; rotate and face merchandise and build displays.
• Restock returned merchandise.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register and bag merchandise.
• Greet customers and provide superior service leadership.
• Open/close the store under direction of the Area Manager.
