Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Cashier/Stocker with lead capacity in the absence of the Store Manager. You will help set plan-o-grams, provide exceptional customer service, and perform duties to maximize profitability while safeguarding assets.

You will unload trucks, stock shelves, operate the register, assist customers, and support store operations to keep a clean, organized, and welcoming shopping environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math calculations (add/subtract/percentages).
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures incl. cashier accountability and deposits.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.
• Familiarity with cash, facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Excellent interpersonal and written/spoken communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandising guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks per store procedures.
• Receive, open, and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock, rotate, and face merchandise; build displays.
• Restock returned merchandise.
• Order zones and drop shipments as directed by Store Manager.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of store areas and front-end.
• Greet customers and manage register operations and bagging.
• Open/close store under Area Manager guidance.
• Authorize refunds/overrides and maintain cashier accountability in manager's absence.
