Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health in New Jersey is seeking a Respiratory Therapist Lead at Monmouth Medical Center. You will assess patients, develop plans of care with physicians and nurses, and deliver respiratory therapy while ensuring safety and quality standards.

The role requires NJ licensure, NBRC RRT, BLS, and the ability to mentor staff on night shifts. Full-time, hourly position with competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of Respiratory Therapy.
• AA/AS degree preferred.
• NJ licensure as Respiratory Care Practitioner required.
• RRT Certification NBRC.
• BLS required.
• PALS and NRP to be obtained within the first twelve months of employment for all full and part time staff.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' pulmonary status and develop an interdisciplinary plan of care with physicians and nurses.
• Deliver respiratory care and report safety issues or medical errors as encountered.
• Contribute to documentation and patient/family education tied to prescribed therapies.
• Lead and mentor staff, ensuring timely delivery of interventions and appropriate follow-up.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes and discharge planning.
• Initiate and monitor therapies including MDI, HFN, CPT, and aerosol treatments; triage emergencies.

Education

Graduate of an approved school of Respiratory Therapy

AA/AS degree preferred

NJ licensure as Respiratory Care Practitioner required

RRT Certification NBRC

BLS required

PALS and NRP to be obtained within 12 months for all staff
