Job summary

Mercy Health’s Respiratory Therapy team at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner III. The role provides leadership, delivers comprehensive respiratory care, and participates in quality initiatives across ICUs, general care, and outpatient services.

Typical schedule is Full Time 32 hours per week with Days/Evenings shifts, rotating weekends and holidays. Eligible candidates may receive on-site health benefits, tuition assistance, and professional development

Qualifications

• Current Respiratory Care License in the state of work.
• NBRC credentialed.
• RRT credential (preferred).
• BLS/ACLS/PALS (preferred at hire; must obtain before direct patient care).
• NRP (preferred).
• CPFT (preferred).
• RPFT (preferred).
• ACCS NBRC (preferred).
• Valid driver’s license (required for Home Care/DME).

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care via patient assessment, planning, intervention, education, and evaluation.
• Lead and mentor staff; participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Serve as shift leader or charge therapist; ensure adequate staffing.
• Collaborate with care team to develop and adjust care plans.
• Document care accurately in charts and systems.
• Educate patients and caregivers on therapies and equipment.
