Job summary

Bon Secours is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner III at Southside Regional Medical Center in Petersburg, VA. The role delivers comprehensive respiratory care, conducts assessments, and plans interventions with a focus on patient education and outcomes.

The candidate will supervise staff, coordinate coverage as Charge Therapist, and participate in quality improvement initiatives. Required licensure and NBRC credentials are essential, with advanced certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist or five years CRT; demonstrated competency in two environments (Nursery/NICU, PICU, ICU/CCU, ED, general care).
• Current Respiratory Care License in the state
• NBRC credentialed (required)
• BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care including oxygen, aerosolized meds, ventilator care.
• Lead clinical learning and mentorship for staff and students.
• Act as shift Charge Therapist ensuring staffing and coverage.
• Perform procedures like bronchoscopy and arterial punctures as needed.
• Educate patients and families on therapies and home care.
