Job summary

Westgate Resorts in Hawaii is seeking an Engineering Supervisor to lead a hands-on maintenance team at Sea Village, an oceanfront resort on the Big Island. You will manage guest units and public areas, coordinate with other departments, and uphold high safety and quality standards.

The role involves scheduling, inventory oversight, personnel discussions, and continuous process improvement to ensure exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Two years of related engineering experience.
• One year of supervisory experience.
• Basic computer skills, including use of word processing and spreadsheet programs.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrates good judgment when dealing with owners and staff members.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• On-call required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire the maintenance team to keep guest units and public areas in excellent condition.
• Collaborate with other departments to deliver fast, efficient, and seamless services.
• Train, develop, and support your team, fostering growth and excellence.
• Create balanced employee work schedules that meet business demands and respect individual needs.
• Assign daily tasks and jump in to assist when necessary.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of resort assets and communicate supply needs.
• Inspect completed work to ensure it meets safety and quality standards.
• Handle staff performance discussions and appraisals.
• Develop and maintain operational procedures and standards.
• Address guest service requests and resolve complaints professionally.
• Monitor equipment and facilities, performing maintenance as needed.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and report incidents promptly.
• Perform maintenance duties alongside your team when required.
• Take on additional tasks to keep the resort running smoothly.
