The Opportunity

Rytec Electric is seeking a Lead Residential Service Electrician & Customer Solutions Specialist to perform diagnostic troubleshooting, electrical service calls, panel upgrades, and home wiring repairs across Wilmington and coastal North Carolina communities.

In this customer-facing technical service role, you will take ownership of residential electrical service calls—diagnosing complex circuit failures, executing panel changes, installing EV chargers/generators, and performing wiring upgrades in custom homes. Working with a premier contractor built on technical excellence and Southern hospitality, you will provide clean, respectful, top-tier service directly in clients’ homes. If you bring 3 or more years of residential service experience, strong National Electrical Code (NEC) literacy, and elite customer service skills, Rytec Electric provides a dedicated service truck, steady year-round dispatching, performance bonuses, and a supportive, family-oriented team climate.

Key Responsibilities

• Residential Diagnostic & Repair Execution: Troubleshoot, isolate, and repair complex residential electrical failures, short circuits, panel issues, and branch wiring anomalies safely and efficiently.
• Service & Fixture Installations: Execute high-end residential service projects—including main electrical panel upgrades, subpanel additions, EV charger installs, generator transfer switches, custom lighting layouts, and home rewires.
• Schematic & Plan Literacy: Read, interpret, and execute directly from architectural electrical plans, single-line diagrams, and technical specification manuals.
• Code Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure all residential service work, grounding, and device terminations adhere strictly to current National Electrical Code (NEC) standards and local building codes.
• Client Experience & Property Respect: Provide outstanding customer service, communicate repair options clearly to homeowners, maintain clean work zones, and protect customer property with boot covers and drop cloths.
• Vehicle & Inventory Logistics: Maintain a clean, organized company service truck stock, manage inventory loads, and log work orders accurately using mobile service dispatch software.

What You Need to Succeed (Qualifications)

Required

• Industry Service Tenure: Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in residential electrical service calls, diagnostic troubleshooting, and residential remodeling.
• Code & Systems Mastery: Functional working knowledge of residential 120V/240V single-phase systems, panelboards, circuit breakers, GFCI/AFCI protection, and National Electrical Code (NEC) regulations.
• Client Communication Skills: Professional, articulate communication skills to explain technical issues, present repair options, and deliver exceptional service.
• Physical Capability: Ability to safely work in tight spaces (attics, crawl spaces), climb ladders, and lift or maneuver equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Mobility Credentials: Valid Driver License with an insurable driving record to operate company-provided service vehicles

Preferred

• License Credentials: Active State Journeyman Electrical License or formal electrical trade school credentials.
• Specialized Installation Experience: Hands-on experience installing residential backup generators, smart home automation, or EV charging infrastructure.
