Job summary

Lifespan Services in Charlotte, NC is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals to help individuals live, learn, and participate in their communities. You will assist with daily living activities, promote independence, support social interactions, and document health and safety milestones using our electronic records.

Training is provided, and schedules include 7 on 7 off rotations with variable shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Pass criminal record and healthcare registry check.
• Pass drug screen.
• Pass driving record check if transportation is provided.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• First Aid/CPR certification required (training available).

Responsibilities

• Teach skills to promote independence.
• Support community inclusion and integration.
• Mentor individuals to build social skills and relationships.
• Assist with activities of daily living, meals, bathing, dressing and personal hygiene.
• Use electronic health records to document activities and significant events.
• Submit documentation and payroll data according to deadlines.
• Provide transportation to designated sites when needed.

Training is provided. Nursing team supports you.Provide transportation to and from designated sites.Assist people with mobility needs, e.g. utilize transfer techniques, a Hoyer lift and/or gait belt.
