City of New London, WI is seeking a Code Enforcement Officer to perform plan reviews, residential inspections, and enforce building, housing, and zoning codes. You will assist the public with permit applications and coordinate with City departments to ensure compliant development.

The role requires Wisconsin code knowledge, ability to issue citations when needed, and experience in enforcement. Work involves both field inspections and office recordkeeping in a municipal setting.

Qualificações

• Requires knowledge of building codes, ordinances, and life safety standards.
• Must be able to review plans and inspect residential and commercial properties in accordance with codes.
• Experience with enforcement and ability to issue citations when necessary.

Responsabilidades

• Performs reviews of plans and inspections of residential construction, and code enforcement activities.
• Assists the public with building permit applications and ensures timely review, approval or denial, and issuance of permits.
• Conducts inspections of new and existing residential properties to verify compliance with building and zoning codes, structural standards, and safety requirements.
• Supports the Community Development Director/Zoning Administrator in the review and processing of zoning permits and inspections.
• Coordinates with City departments to ensure consistent application of codes and ordinances.
• Responds to citizen complaints and initiates appropriate enforcement actions.
• Serves as a Municipal Code Enforcement Officer enforcing Building, Housing, Zoning, Floodplain, Shoreland-Wetland, Public Nuisance, and property maintenance ordinances.
• Maintains records related to approved plans, issued permits, inspections, and enforcement actions.
• Coordinates with municipal, state, and federal agencies to ensure regulatory compliance and timely submission of required documentation.
• Communicates effectively with staff, elected officials, and the public.
