Job summary

ESC LLC is seeking an Audio Visual Lead Technician to head on-site installation, wiring, and configuration of home automation and AV systems in Denver, CO. The role requires mentoring junior technicians, coordinating with project managers and clients, and ensuring high-quality, safe installations.

You will read designs, pull cabling, install devices, and test systems, with emphasis on Crestron, Control4, Savant, Lutron, and JoshAI platforms.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with home automation and AV platforms (Crestron, Control4, Savant, Lutron, JoshAI) and ability to lead complex residential installations.
• Proficiency in low-voltage wiring, cable management, rack building, device mounting, and reading technical drawings/schematics.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot audio-visual and network issues, perform system testing, and deliver reliable installations.
• Experience mentoring or supervising technicians on-site, coordinating tasks, and communicating with project managers, designers and clients.
• Comfort with basic networking concepts (IP, routers, switches, Wi-Fi) and AV-over-IP familiarity is beneficial.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in field-based work.
• Ability to lift/move equipment, climb ladders, and adhere to safety standards on job sites.
• Relevant certifications or training (e.g., CTS, manufacturer certifications, low-voltage licenses) and prior residential AV/home automation experience are highly desirable.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to client sites in the Denver, CO area.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret system designs and wiring diagrams for installations.
• Pull and terminate low-voltage cabling and install devices and equipment racks.
• Install, mount, and configure home automation and AV equipment.
• Program or configure systems as required and perform on-site testing.
• Oversee project timelines on-site and mentor junior technicians; coordinate with project managers, designers, and clients.
• Provide clear documentation of installed systems and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
