Job summary

GFT is seeking a Resident Engineer with long-span bridge experience, specifically cable stay structures, to join our Construction Services Group in New Jersey. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a critical construction effort on a large-scale bridge project for a leading transportation agency in New Jersey.

As the Resident Engineer, you will oversee successful delivery of complex infrastructure projects, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency while coordinating with clients,

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil, Structural, or Construction Engineering.
• Prior experience as a Resident Engineer on Cable Stay or other Long Span Bridges.
• Minimum of 15-20 years of experience in construction inspection procedures and management.
• OSHA 30, Post‑Tensioning Institute (PTI), ACI and other Relevant Structural, Bridge, and Material Certifications.
• NICET, AMPP, TCC, NJSAT certifications are preferred.
• Experience with NJTA Projects, Inspection Procedures, Specifications, and Programs is preferred.
• New Jersey PE License preferred…or ability to obtain through reciprocity.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and management for construction projects.
• Maintain comprehensive construction project records.
• Oversee interactions with clients and inspection staff on contract change orders, item payments, and material testing.
• Conduct project meetings and prepare meeting minutes.
• Develop monthly progress reports and monthly payments.
