Job summary

Chenega Services & Federal Solutions, LLC is seeking a Research Engineer 3 to support the Injury Biomechanics and Protection Group for USAARL. This role provides scientific, programmatic, and technical support to deliver high-quality results in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities include designing and executing studies, handling instrumentation, processing data with MATLAB, and contributing to reports, SOPs, and presentations; strong collaboration and independent problem-solving are expected.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree with coursework in biomechanics and materials.
• Experience in data acquisition, instrumentation, and motion capture.
• Specialized exposure to PMHS research and Biosafety Level 2 policies.
• Familiarity with FDA/IRB processes and imaging tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide research engineering support for studies, including design, preparation, execution, and analysis; select, install, and maintain instrumentation.
• Perform laboratory procedures, field studies, testing, and research activities in biomechanics and related fields.
• Design, develop, and achieve project goals by integrating engineering and medical concepts.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation on progress and findings.
• Develop SOPs to ensure safety and compliance; oversee data collection and data quality.
• Advise investigators and study teams on RDT&E administration and execution.
• Work independently with minimal direction; apply creative, analytical solutions.
• Support injury biomechanics RDT&E program and PMHS research activities.
