Job summary

Charles River Laboratories in Massachusetts is seeking a Research Analyst II to act as lead/primary technician for basic and moderately complex studies. You will develop and perform laboratory procedures and provide guidance to less experienced staff.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a laboratory science or related field and 2–4 years of relevant experience, with GLP knowledge and potential MS/LC-MS familiarity. Overtime and weekend coverage may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a laboratory science or related discipline.
• Two to four years related experience in biology, chemistry/pharmacy, or similar lab environment.
• Knowledge of GLPs and other federal regulations; experience with MS/LC-MS is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Lead technician on assigned studies and coordinate study-related procedures.
• Review peers' activities and assure adherence to study requirements; prepare, conduct and oversee technical activities.
• Manage timelines, resources, and prioritization with supervisor and lab management, with minimal supervision.
• Prepare study notebooks, data collection documentation, identify supply needs, and develop SOPs.
• Interact with sponsor representatives under supervision of senior staff or management.
• Perform lab procedures and record data in compliance with GLPs, SOPs, and study protocols.
• Program tables for data input and edit laboratory data.
• Assist in updating processes and SOPs as assigned.
• Maintain clean work areas and develop new techniques to expand capabilities.
• Overtime/weekend/holiday coverage as needed.
