Job summary

The E.W. Scripps Company's WMAR in Baltimore, MD is seeking an Executive Reporter to lead storytelling, mentor reporters and MMJs, and shape the station's narrative across platforms.

Lead writing and editorial oversight while maintaining high journalistic standards; collaborate with newsroom leaders to execute content strategy and workflows. BS/BA or equivalent experience with 7+ years preferred.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in related discipline preferred, or equivalent years of experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in storytelling and ethical journalism.
• Editorial judgment and knowledge of libel laws are essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and enhance storytelling across reporters and MMJs.
• Oversee writing of stories for multiple platforms and provide timely feedback.
• Collaborate with newsroom leaders to execute the content strategy with authentic storytelling.
• Develop workflow strategies for multiple news programs and outlets.
• Ensure adherence to journalistic standards and ethics.
• May provide on-air, multi-platform coverage for breaking news as needed.
