Job summary

Leidos seeks a Lead Transmission Line Engineer to manage a collaborative team on electric transmission line design projects from 34.5 kV to 500 kV. You will apply standards, direct staff, and drive client relations and project execution in a fast-paced environment.

Applicants should have 8+ years of experience in utility transmission design, expertise in PLS-CADD/PLS-POLE, and a proven ability to mentor engineers while pursuing new business opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering; Civil preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in electric utility transmission design; 6+ with a Master's.
• Expertise in PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE; strong team leadership and communication.
• Willingness to onsite at client offices and travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Direct multiple design teams on transmission projects for multiple clients.
• Develop a team of engineers through coaching and mentoring Leidos’ talent.
• Supervise staff, approve timesheets, and conduct annual performance reviews.
• Participate in leadership team discussions for the Transmission Line Section.
• Create responses to RFIs/RFPs, define scope of work for new projects.
• Drive quality control to ensure top deliverables and foster client relationships.
