Job summary

Polished Talent Group is seeking an experienced Remote Tax Office Manager to oversee remote tax preparation operations during the tax season. This is a fully remote, commission-based independent contractor role requiring active IRS EFIN (or willingness to obtain one) and PTIN for compensation-related returns.

You will support tax preparers, ensure accuracy and compliance, and may lead a team of tax professionals while maintaining client relationships and meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

• Active EFIN or ability to obtain IRS approval.
• PTIN required when personally preparing federal returns for compensation.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Reliable computer and internet access.
• Protect confidential taxpayer information.
• Strong attention to detail and professionalism.
• Tax preparation, tax office, or team leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day remote tax preparation operations.
• Prepare and/or review individual federal and state income tax returns.
• Support tax preparers with workflow and operational questions.
• Monitor return accuracy, documentation, and completion.
• Maintain secure and confidential taxpayer information.
• Follow IRS due diligence and e-file requirements.
• Communicate professionally with clients and tax preparers.
• Maintain organized client and tax records.
• Assist with developing and maintaining client relationships.
• Participate in compliance training.
• Ensure filing deadlines and internal procedures are followed.
