Job summary

Electric Power Systems is seeking a Sr. Relay Technician to perform and supervise electrical testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of relays in power stations across North America.

You will use relay test equipment and software to test relays inside substations, lead safety briefings, and manage complex projects with customers. Travel and overtime are expected, with opportunities for growth and certifications.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
• NETA I, II & IV certification preferred.
• Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Electrical/Electronic technology or 4-year engineering degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety briefings on job site and mitigate hazards.
• Analyze protection schemes for power circuits and components.
• Perform installation, commissioning, testing, and function testing of substation control circuits.
• Project-manage large-scale projects and interface with customers.
• Train and qualify Relay Technician I, II, or Relay Engineer I.
• Read and interpret protection and control schematics and ensure drawings meet standards.
• Provide final deliverables including as-built prints and test results meeting requirements.
• Lead on-site for projects, assign tasks, and prioritize activities.
