Job summary

Target is seeking a Lead Refrigeration Engineer to drive enterprise refrigeration design standards across our retail stores. You will lead the strategy, development, commissioning, and ongoing evolution of refrigeration systems, ensuring alignment with safety, environmental, and sustainability objectives.

You will mentor engineers, influence enterprise design strategies, and collaborate with internal partners and external consultants to deliver reliable, energy-efficient solutions.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Mechanical Engineering degree required.
• 7+ years of experience in refrigeration engineering or related fields.
• Expert knowledge of commercial refrigeration design, operation, commissioning, and lifecycle performance.
• Experience supporting refrigeration installation, field coordination, and issue resolution.

Responsibilities

• Lead refrigeration design standards across Target's stores and facilities.
• Provide technical leadership on refrigeration equipment, controls integration, and energy optimization.
• Mentor engineers and drive continuous improvement of refrigeration practices.
