Job summary

SSOE Group seeks a Refrigeration Specialist (Engineer) to join the Facilities Mechanical Department, delivering energy‑efficient, code‑compliant refrigeration solutions from concept to construction. You’ll coach project teams and collaborate with clients across industrial, manufacturing, and life sciences facilities.

Responsibilities include leading system design, load analyses, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring high quality outcomes and adherence to budget and schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of refrigeration system design, engineering, or consulting.
• Strong knowledge of industrial and commercial refrigeration systems.
• Experience with load calculations, piping design, and controls integration.
• Proficiency with codes including IIAR, ASHRAE, IMC.

Responsibilities

• Lead refrigeration system design on facility projects from planning through commissioning.
• Coordinate designs with multiple disciplines (mechanical, electrical, process, structural, controls).
• Prepare and review load calculations, equipment schedules, and piping layouts.
• Develop basis of design, construction drawings, and technical specifications.
• Engage with clients to understand requirements and present solutions.
• Provide commissioning support and field troubleshooting.
