Job summary

SSOE in Nashville seeks a Refrigeration Specialist (Engineer) to lead and deliver industrial and commercial refrigeration projects, from concept through construction, and to mentor project teams.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary groups to develop energy-efficient, code-compliant refrigeration solutions and engage directly with clients to address operational goals and technical challenges in diverse sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of refrigeration system design experience.
• Strong knowledge of IIAR, ASHRAE, IMC and related codes.
• Experience with load calculations, piping design, equipment selection, and controls integration.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead refrigeration engineering on facility design projects.
• Develop refrigeration system concepts, calculations, specifications, and detailed designs for industrial and commercial applications.
• Perform refrigeration load calculations, system modeling, equipment sizing, and energy analyses.
• Coordinate refrigeration designs with multidisciplinary disciplines.
• Review and ensure compliance with client requirements, industry standards, and codes.
• Support field commissioning and startup activities.
