Job summary

Henderson Engineers seeks a Lead Refrigeration Engineer to design advanced building systems, prepare design documents, and mentor the design staff. The role coordinates with project teams and disciplines, oversees quality, and supports business development initiatives.

Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree in engineering with a PE license and substantial experience; proficiency in Revit and Bluebeam Revu is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and 9 years of relevant experience or 10 years with a high school diploma.
• PE license required; may count toward 1 year of experience.
• Certifications/accreditations aligned with sustainability (e.g., LEED, WELL) preferred.
• Proficiency in engineering design, codes, and related standards.
• Proficiency in Revit and Bluebeam Revu required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare or direct design documents, layouts, drawings, schematics and specs.
• Lead design efforts from concept through completion with project teams.
• Review shop drawings for conformance to plans and specs.
• Mentor and supervise designers and engineers; support staffing decisions.
• Ensure drawings, reports and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost and quality.
• Develop client relationships and support business opportunities.
• Coordinate with project managers and other disciplines; visit job sites as needed.

Education

Bachelor's degree in engineering

PE license

FE exam preferred

Certifications in sustainability (LEED, WELL, CDP etc.) preferred
