Novo is seeking a strategic Lead Recruiter to revolutionize their recruiting function. The ideal candidate will manage full-cycle recruitment, implement innovative processes, and work alongside the Chief People Officer to achieve hiring goals while fulfilling the company’s mission of attracting top-tier talent. We’re looking for a strategic, hands-on Lead Recruiter to help design and scale a recruiting function that’s efficient, data-informed, and built to attract the kind of talent that drives real results.
You’ll partner closely with the Chief People Officer to architect the next generation of recruiting at Novo—designed for scale, speed, and excellence. End to End ownership
Manage full-cycle recruitment, from sourcing and attracting talent, screening, interviewing, offer negotiation, to onboarding support.
Proficient in simultaneously managing multiple requisitions and recruiting initiatives across various domains
Deep understanding of sourcing platforms, including LinkedIn, GitHub, and AngelList, and sourcing techniques.
Familiarity with Boolean search, proficient in creative sourcing strategies and passive candidate engagement
Skilled in closing high-quality candidates within competitive markets
Successfully recruit and hire top talent within competitive markets
Familiarity with onboarding workflows and transitions to HR operations team
System design & process innovation
Build structured, competency-based interview processes and scorecards.
Train hiring managers on best practices for interviewing and decision-making.
Implement automation and AI tools for sourcing, pipeline management, and reporting.
Proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks to accelerate hiring velocity.
Data-driven execution
Define and track key metrics like time-to-fill, pass-through rates, offer acceptance, quality of hire, DEI pipeline health, and candidate NPS.
Build and maintain reporting dashboards that enable transparency and drive accountability.
Use insights to inform headcount planning and stakeholder decisions.
Stakeholder partnership
Serve as a trusted advisor to hiring managers across Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Operations.
Facilitate thoughtful intake meetings, calibration sessions, and hiring debriefs.
Manage expectations and influence decisions with a data-backed, solutions-oriented approach.
Culture champion & brand ambassador
Deliver a consistently exceptional candidate experience that reflects Novo’s values.
Embed culture and DEI principles into every step of the hiring process.
Collaborate with the People, Marketing, and Leadership teams on employer brand storytelling and hiring campaigns.
Act as a visible, credible representative of Novo in all candidate-facing moments.
7+ years of in-house, full-cycle recruiting experience at startups or scale-ups
Proven track record hiring across multiple business and technical functions
Experience collaborating directly with senior and executive stakeholders
Data-informed, highly organized, and outcome-focused
Advanced sourcing and search capabilities (Boolean, outreach, etc.)
Proficient in ATS systems (Greenhouse, Lever, SmartRecruiters, AI based new age ATS) and sourcing tools
Proficient with reporting, analytics dashboards, and hiring funnel metrics
Resourceful and creative with a bias toward thoughtful, strategic action
Strong communicator and relationship builder with high integrity and professionalism
Demonstrated ability to champion company culture and values throughout the hiring process; seen as a culture ambassador who fosters inclusive, values-driven candidate experiences.
Key metrics for success
Fill roles within standard TAT to ensure business continuity and team momentum.
Launch intake meetings promptly after role approval to accelerate hiring cycles.
Maintain strong sourcing-to-onsite conversion to reflect top-of-funnel effectiveness.
Boost outreach response rates using Gem, LinkedIn Recruiter, and personalized messaging.
Achieve a healthy interview-to-hire ratio to balance selectivity and speed.
Ensure high candidate NPS to deliver a best-in-class candidate experience.
Lead process improvements using data and recruiting analytics.
Earn high satisfaction scores from hiring managers and internal partners.
Support culture-building initiatives like onboarding, values sessions, and DEI storytelling.
